Family Favorite Pizza Buns

A quick and easy recipe that turns leftover hamburger or hotdog buns into cheesy, delicious pizza buns your whole family will love.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 peppers chopped
  • 1 can mushrooms drained
  • 3 cans pizza sauce
  • 1 375g package pepperoni, diced small
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese for mixing
  • Extra mozzarella cheese for topping
  • Hamburger or hotdog buns

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pan over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.
  3. Add onion, peppers, and mushrooms. Cook until vegetables reach desired tenderness.
  4. Stir in pizza sauce and diced pepperoni.
  5. Turn off heat and mix in 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
  6. Spoon mixture onto buns placed on a baking sheet.
  7. Top with additional cheese.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and lightly browned.

Great for freezing—just reheat in oven or air fryer
