Pizza Buns Recipe
The perfect answer to stale hamburger or hotdog buns you overbought! These cheesy, hearty pizza buns are quick, filling, and always a family favorite.
Ingredients
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 peppers, chopped
- 1 can mushrooms, drained
- 3 cans pizza sauce
- 1 package pepperoni, diced small, 375g
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- Extra mozzarella cheese for topping
- Hamburger or hotdog buns
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Fry ground beef in a large pan over medium heat until browned.
- Add chopped onion, chopped peppers, and drained mushrooms.
- Cook until the vegetables are softened to your liking.
- Stir in pizza sauce and diced pepperoni.
- Turn off the heat.
- Add 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese and stir into the mixture.
- Spoon the pizza mixture onto hamburger or hotdog buns.
- Top each bun with extra mozzarella cheese.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
Notes
These are a great way to use up stale buns. They are perfect for lunch, supper, snacks, or freezing for another day.
